Final check and filling up with fluids on a Volvo-BM Boxer 350 tractor on the Bolinder-Munktell assembly line in Eskilstuna, Sweden, in the mid-1960s. The Boxer 350 saw the introduction of a totally new driveline. It was robust and resilient and was therefore also used in wheel loaders, haulers and backhoe loaders.

In 1950, AB Volvo bought the tractor & machine manufacturer Bolinder-Munktell (BM) and combined BM and Volvo's tractor manufacturing into one company under the BM Volvo brand. In 1973, the company name was changed to Volvo BM AB, although the Bolinder-Munktell and Volvo brands co-existed for awhile. In 1979, the tractor business was sold to Valmet and the brand became Volvo BM Valmet for a few.
